Sundara Basketweave Socks

The first of (hopefully) several socks for December. (Specifically, December 25th.) These are the Basketweave socks from Sensational Knitted socks. The yarn is Sundara Sock yarn in Marina over Icicles from her permanent collection. The yarn is really soft and her colors are lovely. I used the magic loop method for these. I don't think I like it as much for thin yarns, even though I find it appealing in concept.

Cable Twist Socks for December

Twist socks

You can't see it because I didn't get a good enough side photo but the heel flap is also green. These are for me and they keep my feet toasty! The only thing I wish I had done differently is make the entire toe part out of green. I like this pattern it's easy to get the rhythm of it. I'm sure to make more. I still have some sweater yarn and other worsted yarn that needs using up.

Specs:

cuff down/heel flap
ww cascade 220 heathers in purple and green from my stash
US4/3.5mm 32" cable needles for magic loop

Tiny Fixation Sock

I recently picked up the keychain sock blocker from the Loopy Ewe, and it came with a pattern for a little sock to fit the blocker (of course). Naturally, I had to make the sock. It was adorable (though I did decide to modify the pattern little to use 18 stitches around instead of 16). It was also a very quick knit, so I made a couple more.

I am thinking that some of the people I wanted to make Christmas socks for may get little placeholder socks while I finish their actual socks (since I want to make more pairs than I have time for). I am also considering making a little sock souvenir from each pair for myself, but perhaps that is too crazed.

Secret Pal Socks

I knit these socks for my last gift package to my secret pal.

Pattern: Apple Harvest Socks from Northern Sunshine Designs
Yarn: SnapDragon from White Willow Market
Size: 11 1/2 US shoe size
Modificatons: Casted on 84 stitches and added k1p1 to heel flap
Start: November 3, 2oo7
Finish: November 27, 2007

Sockotta Shortrows

I finally finished another pair of socks. I got stalled on the short rows so these lingered for a while. I finally decided to crack the short rowed heel code and didn't do too bad. I followed the instructions from More Sensations Socks.

First Toe-Ups

Specs:
Sockotta most of the skein
32" US1/2.25mm circ needles

I did lots of first for this sock:
First short rowed heel
First toe up
First time using magic loop for socks - Instead of doing two at a time on one circ, I used two circs one on each.

November Socks

Another pair of Christmas socks finished. If only Christmas were six months away, rather than one, I might finish all the socks I'd hoped to finish.

These are Nancy Bush's Gentleman's Socks with Lozenge Pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks. The yarn is from Fearless Fibers in smoke. Needles were US size 0.

FO: Apple Harvest Socks

Apple Harvest Socks
Yarn: White Willow Market's Superwash Supersoft fingering weight merino in Prairie Grass colorway
Size: 8 wide
Modifications: I casted on 72 stitches instead of 60 and added a few k1p1 stitches to the heel.
Start: October 17, 2007
Finished: November 3, 2007

This pattern was easy to knit. I'm making it my quick and easy female go to sock pattern.
